Long weekends are meant for fun, family, and food… but by Monday, the weighing scale often tells a different story. 🙈
Yes, it’s possible to enjoy your favourite meals without carrying home an extra 2 kilos.
Here’s how you can still enjoy the holiday but **not carry the extra weight into Monday.
1. Follow the 3-S Rule to start your day: Start Smart, Stay Light, Stay Active
Start Smart: Begin each day with something clean like lemon water, fruit, soaked nuts, herbal tea.
Stay Light: Don’t go heavy in your first meal it sets the tone for the day. A fruit + protein combo is ideal.
Stay Active: Morning walk, stretching or dancing while cleaning keep that body moving.
2. Anchor Your Day with One Clean Meal
Even if you indulge in 1 to 2 meals, ensure at least one meal is super clean:
- Khichdi with dahi
- Stir-fry veggies with dal and roti
- Moong chilla or soup with salad
This keeps your gut happy and gives your body a break.
3. Post-Meal Walk = Magic
Just 10–15 minutes of a light walk after heavy meals can:
- Improve digestion
- Reduce bloating
- Control sugar spikes
No gym needed — just a walk around the block or at home.
4. Say NO to Liquid Calories
Instead of: Cold drinks, Fruit juices, Cocktails/ mocktails choose Lemon water, Jeera-ajwain water, Coconut water or Plain buttermilk with roasted jeera
These hydrate you and help digestion too!
5. Follow the 1-1 Rule for Indulgences
If you're eating:
- Pizza for lunch ➡ Have a light soup & salad dinner
- Fried snacks in the evening ➡ Go for a fruit-based breakfast next day
Balance each indulgence with one clean, controlled meal.
6. Sleep Well, Don’t Skip
Late nights mess with your hunger hormones.
Aim for 7+ hours of sleep, especially after indulgent days.
Good sleep = better metabolism and fewer cravings.
7. Don’t Declare a Cheat Weekend
Instead of “chutti hai, chhod do sab,”
say “I’ll enjoy but stay mindful.”
That shift in mindset is the real game changer.
Final Reminder:
You don’t have to eat “perfectly” just smartly.
You can enjoy the weekend, have your dessert or mithaai and maintain your digestion too
